The  balanced   equation   for  the  reaction  of CH3COOH + NaHCO3  is  written  as  follows

NaHCO3+CH3COOH  =CH3COONa  + CO2  + H2O

the   type of reaction  that  occurred is   a  neutralization   since NaHCO3  is  a  base  while  CH3COOH   is  an  acid. 

   The  neutralization  reaction occurs  between  an base and  an acid
