We need the point-slope formula, the slope 2 andbthe given point.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 2 = 2(x -(-3))

y - 2 = 2(x + 3)

y - 2 = 2x + 6

We now solve for y.

y = 2x + 6 + 2

The equation we want is y = 2x + 8.
