Why does sir peter dislike everyone at the party?

He disliked everyone at the party because when he entered he in encountered many people gossiping and slandering, so he was shocked about it. It was an incessant gossiping that he could not tolerate and he could not abide the idea that people enjoy tearing others down. What is more, when he heard people criticizing those who are supposed to be friends of them, he was more disgusted about the situation.
