How do you think that the food eaten by early humans affected the ways that they lived?

I feel that the food that was eaten was either very little or a lot in vitamins in such but normally you would've had a little bit of bread to help with the hunger. If you were lucky you got water and that's how you lived either you ate and lived or starved and died. :(
