Well, an independent variable ids the thing that  stays the same and a dependent variable is the thing that changes.

variable is any factor, trait, or condition that can exist in differing amounts or type. experiments usually have three kids of variables: independent, dependent, and controlled. independent variable is the one that gets changed by the scientist. i hope this helps alot
