How does the area of a circle compare to the area of another circle whose radius is twice as large? Explain your reasoning.

area=pir²
compared to if we replaced r with 2r
areaother=pi(2r)²=pi4r²=4pir²

it is 4 times the other circle
doubling the radius makes the area 4 times larger
