by section formula the coordinates of the point  (4/5,5) .

Let the coordinates of the required point be (x,y)

Let the given points (-4,1) be (x1, y1) and (1,6) be (x2, y2) and the ratio be m:n(4:1)

Using section formula to find the coordinates:

x = (mx2 + nx1)/(m+n)

= {4(2) + 1(-4)} /(4+1)

= 4/5

y = (my2 + ny1)/(m+n)

= {4(6) + 1(1)} / (4+1)

= 25/5

= 5

Therefore, the required point is (4/5,5).
