The  sum of the links of the two parallel sides is 5cm

Area of a  trapezoid

The formula for calculating the area of a trapezoid is expressed as:

A = 0.5(a+b)h

where

h is the height of the trapezoid

a+b is the sum of the sides

Substitute

20 = 0.5(a+b)8

40 = 8(a+b)

a+b = 40/8

a+b = 5cm

Hence the  sum of the links of the two parallel sides is 5cm
