The birth of psychology is often attributed to Wilhelm Wundt because he pioneered the investigation of mental processes using the scientific method.

Wilhelm wrote the book titled the principles of physiological psychology in the year 1873. The first laboratory of experimental psychology was established by him.

He used the scientific method to understand human processes that had to do with sensation and perception.
