Answer:

It became a national monument in 1906 by President Teddy Roosevelt.  It is located in Wyoming and is about 2 square miles.  The Devils Tower is a sacred monument for the local American Indian population although some use the tower to rock climb, which is controversial.  Because of this, the National Park Service Temporarily suspended rock climbing during the sacred month of June since 1995.  

Explanation:

There are more than 150 rock climbing routes at the Devils Tower.
