then

[tex]550=\dfrac12 (23+27)(h)\\\\\Rightarrow\ 550=\dfrac12(50)h\\\\\Rightarrow\ 550=25h\\\\\Rightarrow\ h=\dfrac{550}{25}\\\\\Rightarrow\ h= 22[/tex]

Hence, the distance between them  = 22 cm.
