The Jesuits, and the Roman Catholic Church at large, were some of the biggest supporters of Baroque Art as it glorified the actions of the Catholic Church and Catholic beliefs.

There are some art historians who blame the Jesuits for the decline of Renaissance Art, with a focus on stories from antiquity, and the rise of Baroque Art.
